Renowned Acting Guru, Professor Ram Gopal Bajaj; has been the director of National School of Drama and the chief of NSD Repertory Company. Many of the plays directed by him for NSD and its Repertory were landmark productions. He is renowned for his ease with various departments of theatre be it writing, directing, acting, make-up, lighting and set design. He was conferred with the Padmasri in 2003. He is recipient of other awards for his all round contribution to Indian theatre Sangeet Natak Akademi and Sahitya Kala Parishad. He is nominated as a member of the Indian National Comission for Co-operation with UNESCO by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. He is also a member of core group of the 10th Five Year Plan of Ministry of I & B and Ministry of Culture. Apart from writing, designing, directing and acting in several plays, he has acted in various films and television programmes and served as a member of jury of the National Awards and the International Film Festival of India. Renowned actors like Alok Nath, Irfan Khan, Atul Kulkarni, Asish Vidyarthi, Deepa Sahi, Seema Biswas, Bhagirathi, Nita Vashisht, Swathi Sen, Rasika Agashe, Hijlal Ali Khan and others have been immense beneficiaries of his tutelage.

The Bard of Avon was never more right. The intensive six-month course on acting will begin with acting exercises to hone in skills of sense and emotional memory, attaining absolute belief in given circumstances, methods to develop psychological gesture, physical approaches and viewpoints. The course will include a brief introduction on historical backgrounds on master like; Konstantin Stanislavski, who developed special methods for physical awareness of the corporal centre and consistent physical energy thereby heightening the actor’s primary elements. Students will be trained to include specific exercises attributed to each master. The course will also concentrate on voice training, martial arts, speech & diction, movement, improvs, rehearsal & audition techniques, film aesthetics and script analysis. By the tenth week, they will progress to work along with the Direction & Cinematography students on ‘Open Scenes’ and monologues. Such collaborative learning will increase their grasp over all the players involved, which in turn will help in developing dynamic performances.
