Direction & Screenplay

Course Objectives

To become a professional film-maker, one has to acquire the know-how and the ability to co-ordinate the activities of every department of film-making in terms of their creative, technical and organizational aspects; all towards the singular goal of realizing the director’s vision. Our course basically starts out as a combined curriculum on film directing and screenwriting and then looks at the other aspects of film-making that matter to the making of a good director emphasizing hands-on experience of the process at every stage. The basic objective is to impart creative, conceptual, technical and organizational skills. In principle, the student would be trained to tap both his or her inner resources and the external world, identify his or her ideas and organize them into a coherent vision and materialize the same into an effective cinematic form with a distinct and unique style that carries the mark of his or her personality.
