The second Cut.In Students’ Video Festival will be held at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai on the 30 and 31 January 2010.
This national level video festival aims to encourage talent among this group and also to bring them together. The competition is for short documentaries, short films, public service messages and music videos produced between 1 January 2008 to 15 December 2009.
Entries are invited for the following categories:
a) Best Documentary (under 45 min)
b) Best Short fiction (under 45 min)
The festival will feature works by graduate/postgraduate/diploma students all over the country selected by a panel of judges.
Two prizes will be given in each category. The prize consists of a trophy and a citation. In addition there are prizes for best Camera, Edit and Sound Design.
c) Best Public Service Message (Under 2 min)

A Tv is providing an opportunity for Young Film makers to participate in The Movie Goal Contest.
The interested candidates can participate in this contest by submitting a short film of 2-5 mins in a CD/DVD with you and your crew complete details in a text document along with disc and submit in the office address or post your video link to mail address before December 4th.

HYDERABAD: The 16th International Children’s Film Festival would commence here from November 14, Information and Public Relations Minister J Geetha Reddy announced. The week-long festival, to be jointly organised by the Andhra Pradesh Government and Children’s Film Society of India (CSFI), would be inaugurated by Chief Minister K Rosaiah at Lalita Kala Thoranam. The festival would screen as many as 70 films from various countries. As part of the film festival, the school education department has already selected five children from each district in the State and nominate them as delegates. The organisers have also urged the Tourism Department to provide tourism information kits and also organise local site seeing tours for the delegates. Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting Ambika Soni would be the chief guest and noted filmmaker, writer, poet, lyricist Gulzar would be present on the occasion among other prominent personalities. The movies would be screened at eight venues including Imax theatre in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, Geeta Reddy said adding `Lalitkala thoranam’ will be the main venue where the inaugural and concluding ceremonies will be held. ‘Zero Bridge‘, a film by NRI Kashmiri filmmaker Tariq Tapa, is the only movie by a director with Indian links to be screened at the 65th Venice International Film Festival,Tapa shot the 93-minute Indo-US coproduction entirely in Srinagar.’Zero Bridge’, on the common people of Kashmir, is his first full-length movie.
Zero Bridge’, which Tapa has written, produced, directed and co-edited, is about a teenage pickpocket who goes astray to avoid his disciplinarian uncle’s strict routine.
11 th Mumbai Film Festival will be held from October 29 th to November 5 th , 2009,its programme is divided into five sections: International Competition for the First Feature Films of Directors, World Cinema, Indian Showcase, Mumbai Dimensions and Retrospectives.The Mumbai Film Festival Programme aims to present the best of the crop in all its sections. In the recently concluded Toronto International Film Festival 2009, India’s Laxmikant Shetgaonkar won the prestegious FIPRESCI prize for his Konkani feature film “The Man Beyond the Bridge”.

The film about children suffering from HIV/AIDS has also won the Silver Sierra Best Feature Film in California International Film Festival also. The award will be presented on October 23 in California
